Nanowrimo?!?

It's as if i didn't even participate this year.

I'm STILL not past one freaking page.

Exactly.

How many words, then? I'm too scared to check. Pitiful.

My imminent death

I did it. I signed up. Nanowrimo is officially my executioner, my first and last (well, maybe not last. I might hire it again next year. It really depends on how well - or, um, horrible - it "executes" its job. Heh.)

Okay, lame pun, but you get it, don't you? Don't you? Please?

I have no idea what I'm going to write about. I'm not worried - not worried at all.

I really shouldn't

In November, there's this thing called Nanowrimo - a writing contest. Challenge. Thing. Whatever (I'm not too clear on the details, perhaps I should go visit the site and investigate...)

Anyway, I'm wondering if I should participate in it (this is temptimg me). I'm almost positive I won't finish and complete 50,000 words, as I have to write something else for my ELA project (last time it was a {crappycrappycrappy} short story, and this time it's a {withoutadoubt, crappy} script.) If I decide to do Nanowrimo, then I might as well be committing suicide - I would, no doubt, die a very painful death, day by day, in thirty days.

But it might be a fun death.

You see my dilemma.

dilemma: n. a situation requiring a choice between equally undesirable alternatives.

Writer's Block: R.E.A.D. in America Day

In celebration of R.E.A.D. in America Day, tell us about what you're reading. How is reading important to you? What would you recommend to others?

Right now I'm reading The Ground Tour, the sequel to Sorcery and Cecelia. I'm not very far into it yet, but it seems promising enough. I really loved the first book, and I hope the second doesn't disappoint! But I always thought Thomas was taller than "middling height." He always seemed to be a little more than six feet to me. I just can't wrap my mind around a short Thomas...

I'm not sure what I'm going to read next, though...I just got City of Ashes, but I realized it was the second book to City of Bones...I'm not sure if I want to read out of order...maybe I'll make this an exception, though...

Writer's Block: Autumn Begins

Autumn starts today! How do you personally sense the change in seasons? Is Autumn more of a season in itself, or a transition period?

View 500 Answers

I know this is a late answer, but...

I don't really notice anything at the moment. It's getting a bit cooler, less sunny, but there are hardly enough trees around here to really show the differences in changing seasons, so... Anyway, of course Autumn is a season, all four are unique and great, and it could be my most favorite one. Although I do love winter. The snow, Christmas (oh man, I'm going to miss Christmas with family...sigh...) And in Autumn, there's Thanksgiving, which I also love, and also will miss (I love food! Especially the yams...oh, those are delicious--if they're prepared right. ;)

Writer's Block: Speak Like a Pirate Day

Ahoy me hearties, the call of the sea be strong! Seein' as it's Speak Like a Pirate Day, let's have all ye landlubbers, scallywags and sprogs tell us in a buccaneer's tongue who yer first mate be, and what sort of booty yer willin' to walk the plank for. Savvy?

View 500 Answers

I'm terribly sorry, but I don't savvy. I don't have a first mate, unfortunately. And I wouldn't walk the plank for anything, as I'd die anyway, so there'd be no point in the first place if I got a treasure chest full of hardcover classics or sparkly things from Nawat Crow.

And the only piratey thing I ever say is argh, or matey, but hardly ever the latter. Mostly just argh. And that's usually while I IM or write on my blog or something. So today, on Livejournal, I choose to be grumpy. Hmph. Argh. Whatever. ;)

Never mind

I'm just going to cheat and be weird and be totally odd and just keep all three blogs and do whatever (wait, no, it's four now since I just started WCJ, so...) Yeah, I like it this way, all random and out there, so four blogs it is. I like the...chaotic sense of it all, heh. Suits me fine, suits me fine...

Can't decide

I have three blogs I update regularly. They're all pretty similar, actually, so I'm wondering: why do I need three blogs? Why don't I just use one from now on? So I'm going to have to decide which one to use as my main blog. Not this one, though - for some reason, I like it less than WordPress and Blogger.

WordPress or Blogger, which one which one... ugh, I like both a lot, the same, I think. My  Blogger layout is better, WordPress features are better, Blogger is easier to use, WordPress is easier to navigate (but then, now that I have sitemeter on my Blogger blog, it's sort of the same as WordPress as far as statistics go, so...) I'm leaning more toward my Blogger blog, but I can't imagine just leaving my WordPress blog. Too hard to decide...

Okay, since I started this post with the intent of deciding something, I'm going to do say this (even though I sort of already said it): I'll stop using my Livejournal blog. This will be my last entry, for now, on this blog. Now I only have two blogs to worry about, which is goodish, I guess. But it was fun while it lasted, Livejournal. Perhaps I'll see you in the future...once I sort this Blogger/WordPress problem out... :D

P.S. I'll miss those mood emoticon things at the end of every post. That's one good thing about Livejournal, that's different than Wordpress or Blogger... xD

Writer's Block: Your Username

Why did you choose your user name? Is there any special meaning or story behind it?

First question listed was submitted by [info]lilbananapie. (Follow-up questions, if any, may have been added by LiveJournal.)

View 511 Answers

I chose it because it's short, and it only represents "Rebecca Joy," so no real special meaning or whatever. Just rbccjoy. Simple enough.

Now why did I choose Rebecca Joy in the first place? It's because those were possible names I could've been given. So I just combined them into one. Again, not very creative, no hidden meaning or spectacular story, etc. Same with my blog title name: Exploration. Boring. Cliche. Doesn't even have an explanation. Etc.

I guess I didn't feel very creative then...or now...ever... :D
